While in Turkish novels, space is mostly examined at the level of thematic background or setting, in the Yılkı Atı, geography is seen as an element that directly determines the structure of the narrative. This study explains the protagonist's inability to return to the village through the concepts of "geographical entrapment" or "geographical impossibility" created by physical geography. The study brings together the disciplines of literature and geography, exhibiting an interdisciplinary. The distinctions between "space" and "place" made by geographers such as Tuan and Relph are integrated with Genette's methods. The geographical obstacles in the novel are categorized, and the differences between the mappable "real geography" and the "narrative geography" in the novel are determined, examining the transformative effect of space on the characters. The study concludes that elements of physical geography break spatial continuity, making return impossible at both physical and perceptual levels. The transformation of space disrupts the perception of "home," turning the village into a space of rejection and the wilderness into a living space. The study argues that the geography in the novel is not passive scene; this shows that it is the main factor that guides the narrative and determines the fates of the characters.
