Özet
This article presents a synthesis of descriptive and instructional studies on the development of scientific concepts during childhood. Preschoolers' and young children's understandings of earth and space science concepts, physical science concepts, and life science concepts are described. Strategies to support the development of scientific understandings in young children are provided.
