ÖSYM sınavlarında 1981-2002 sorulan coğrafya sorularının değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğrencilerin ortaöğretimde öğrenimleri sırasında kazandıkları coğrafi bilgi ve becerileri ölçen ÖSYM coğrafya sınav sorularının çeşitli yönlerden araştırılmasıdır. Bu çalışmada, 1981-2002 yılları arasında Öğrenci Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi sınavlarında ÖSS-ÖYS sorulan coğrafya soruları; yoruma veya temel coğrafi bilgiye dayalı olup olmadığı, konu alanlarına göre dağılımı ve hangi konu ile doğrudan yada dolaylı olarak ilişkili olduğu, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu'nca onaylanan ders kitaplarına ve ortaöğretim ders programlarına uygunlukları açısından değerlendirilmiş, tek ve iki aşamalı sınav döneminde sorulan coğrafya soruları karşılaştırılmıştır. Coğrafya sorularının konular açısından, ortaöğretim ders programları ve ders kitapları ile örtüştüğü saptanmıştır. Ancak bazı konuların daha ağırlıklı olarak ele alındığı ve özellikle 1.basamak sınavlarında yoruma dayalı sorulan coğrafya sorularının 2.basamak sınavlarına oranla daha fazla olduğu tespit edilmiştir. ÖSS ve ÖYS'de sorulan soruların büyük çoğunluğunun konularla ilgili yorum soruları içermesi %70.2-93.7 , ortaöğretim kurumlarında yürütülen öğretmen merkezli ve teorik ağırlıklı coğrafya eğitiminin tekrar gözden geçirilmesini zorunlu kılmaktadır

This paper aims at examining the OSYM The Center For Student Selection and Placement geography questions from different perpectivies. All questions asked in both the SSE and the SPE exams between 1981 and 2002 were examined. The questions evaluated according to certain criterion. These were if the questions required knowing facts or some interpretation needed to get the answer right; distribution of questions in certain subjects and categories; to what subjects the questions were related directly and indirectly, and if they suited textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education's Committee on Training and to the secondary schools curriculum. The questions asked during the two level examination period were compared to one level examination The results showed in terms of subject and secondary school curriculum and textbooks, the questions we appropriate. However, it was determined that some subjects were paid special attention and the questions required interpretation asked in the one level OSS exams than the two-level exams. The fact that most of the questions required some kind of interpretation 70 to 94 % requires that theory oriented classes that are thought in the secondary schools be reevaluated
