An investigation in fish fauna İkizcetepeler dam lake (Balıkesir), Turkey

Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the fi sh species of the basin of İkizcetepeler Dam Lake in the year of 2000. A total of 156 specimens were caught by fi sh nets, scoop nets, and fi shing lines. As a result, 11 fi sh species including 3 subspecies, belonging to 2 families (Cyprinidae and Cobitidae), were identifi ed. This paper gives the diagnostic characteristics of these fi shes.
