Mmorpg türünde geliştirilen bir eğitsel oyunun basit elektrik devreleri ünitesine uygulanması ve çeşitli değişkenler bakımından incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada 9. sınıf fizik dersi “basit elektrik devreleri” konusunu içeren elektroGame eğitsel MMORPG oyununun; öğrencilerin bilgisayar tutumuna, fizik tutumuna ve ders başarısına etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Balıkesir ilinde bir Anadolu Lisesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 11 kız, 11 erkek öğrenci ile bir Sağlık Meslek lisesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 19 kız ve 5 erkek toplam 48 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Fizik tutumunu belirlemek amacıyla Baykul (1990) tarafından matematik dersi için geliştirilen ve Tekmen (2006) tarafından fizik dersine uyarlanan tutum ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Bilgisayara yönelik tutum Loyd ve Gressard (1984) tarafından geliştirilen ve Şerefhanoğlu (2007) tarafından yeniden düzenlenen ölçek ile tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Öğrencilerin basit elektrik devreleri konusundaki başarılarını ölçmek amacıyla Peşman’ın (2005) geliştirdiği üç basamaklı test kullanılmıştır. Üç basamaklı test, 12 soru ile öğrencilerin başarı puanlarını, cevaplarını verirken geliştirdikleri düşünce biçiminin bir kavram yanılgısı olup olmadığını ve verdikleri cevabın doğruluğuna güvenip güvenmediklerini ölçmektedir. investigate the outcomes of an educational MMORPG use namely “elektroGame” focusing on simple electric circuits, on computer and physics attitude and also physics achievement. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 48 students including 11 female and 11 male students enrolled in an Anadolu High School, and 19 female and 5 male students from a Health High School of Vocation in the province of Balıkesir, Turkey. In order to determine physics attitudes, the study used the attitude scale developed for mathematics by Baykul (1990) and adapted for physics by Tekmen (2006). The attitude towards computers was measured using the scale developed by Loyd and Gressard (1984) and refurbished by Şerefhanoğlu (2007). The three-phase test developed by Peşman (2005) was used to measure the students’ achievement regarding simple electric circles. With 12 question, the three-phase test measures the achievement scores of the students, whether the thought processes they used in answers are misconceptions or not, and whether they trust in the correctness of the answer they provided. The scales were used as pre-test before the implementation, and as post-test following the 5-week implementation. At the end of the study, no significant difference was found between the experiment and control groups in terms of physics achievement and computer attitudes; however, there was a significant difference in favor of the experiment group in terms of physics attitudes.
