Tüketicilerin ekolojik zekâları ile sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Purpose- Individuals with ecological intelligence can meet their needs with less harm to the environment and thus contribute to the sustainability of the ecosystem. Ecological intelligence has a significant impact on making sustainable consumption a lifestyle. Based on this, the aim of this study is to examine the relationship between ecological intelligence and sustainable consumption behavior. Design/methodology/approach-A survey was used as a data collection tool in the study. The sample of the research consists of 643 people and convenience sampling was preferred as the sampling method. SPSS and SmartPLS package programs were used to analyze the data. Findings-The composite reliability values of the economic and social dimensions of ecological intelligence and the environmental awareness, non-necessary purchasing, savings and reusability dimensions of sustainable consumption are between 0.823 and 0.914; Cronbach's alpha takes values between 0.683 and 0.877. Discussion-According to the results of the research, the increase in the social dimension of ecological intelligence positively affects the environmental awareness, reusability and savings dimensions of sustainable consumption behavior; It causes a decrease in the dimension of non-necessary purchasing behavior. These results are similar to the results of studies in the literature. There was no statistically significant relationship between the economic dimension of ecological intelligence and sustainable consumption behavior. This result differs from studies in the literature.

Amaç- Ekolojik zekâya sahip bireyler ihtiyaçlarını çevreye daha az zarar vererek karşılayabilirler ve böylece ekosistemin sürdürülebilirliğine katkı sağlayabilirler. Sürdürülebilir tüketimin bir yaşam tarzı haline gelmesinde ekolojik zekânın önemli etkisi vardır. Buradan hareketle bu çalışmanın amacı, ekolojik zekâ ile sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Yöntem- Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak anket kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi 643 kişiden oluşmaktadır ve örneklem yöntemi olarak kolayda örnekleme tercih edilmiştir. Verilerin analiz edilmesinde SPSS ve SmartPLS paket programlarından faydalanılmıştır. Bulgular- Ekolojik zekânın ekonomi ve sosyal boyutu ile sürdürülebilir tüketimin çevre duyarlılığı, ihtiyaç dışı satın alma, tasarruf ve yeniden kullanılabilirlik boyutlarının bileşik güvenilirlik değerleri 0,823 ile 0,914 arasında; Cronbach’s alpha ise 0,683 ile 0,877 arasında değerler almaktadır. Tartışma- Araştırma sonucuna göre ekolojik zekânın sosyal boyutundaki artış, sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışının çevre duyarlılığı, yeniden kullanılabilirlik ve tasarruf boyutunu olumlu yönde etkilemekte; ihtiyaç dışı satın alma davranışı boyutunda ise azalışa sebep olmaktadır. Bu sonuçlar literatürdeki çalışmaların sonuçlarıyla benzerlik göstermektedir. Ekolojik zekânın ekonomi boyutuyla sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışı arasında ise istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmamıştır. Bu sonuç ise literatürdeki çalışmalardan farklılık göstermektedir.
