dc.description.abstractDeveloping tree-thinking skills is vital for achieving a deep understanding of evolutionary processes, advancing scientific literacy, and strengthening core biological knowledge. This study explores an inquiry-based activity where students use LEGO bricks as model taxa to construct and interpret phyloge netic trees. The activity aims to demonstrate the dynamic nature of evolution, support the development of tree-thinking skills, and highlight the role of cu mulative evidence in understanding evolutionary relationships. Implemented with 18 senior-year pre-service biology teachers in an Evolution Theory course, the activity provided an engaging, hands-on approach to exploring evolutionary concepts. This LEGO-based tree-thinking activity successfully promoted scientific reasoning and collaboration, serving as a valuable re source for educators seeking to enhance students’ understanding of phyloge netic principles and evolutionary mechanisms.
