Biyoloji öğretmen adaylarının teknoloji bağımlılığına yönelik görüşleri: senaryo temelli durum çalışması

Abstract

Günümüzde teknoloji yaşamımızın ayrılmaz bir parçası haline gelmiştir. Her yaş grubunu etkileyen teknolojik gelişmeler öğretmen adayları üzerinde de etki göstermektedir. Bireylerin teknoloji ile etkileşimi arttıkça, bağımlılık türlerinden teknoloji bağımlılığı da artmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, biyoloji öğretmen adaylarının teknoloji bağımlılığı hakkındaki düşüncelerini belirlemektir. Çalışmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu, Türkiye’deki bir eğitim fakültesi üçüncü sınıfta öğrenim gören toplam 14 biyoloji öğretmen adayından oluşmaktadır. Veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen Senaryo Temelli Teknoloji Bağımlılığı Formu ile toplanmıştır. Formda; teknoloji bağımlılığı ile ilgili üç senaryo ve bu senaryolarla ilgili üçer soru bulunmaktadır. Veri analizi, içerik analizi yöntemine göre yapılmıştır. Çalışmada, büyük çoğunluğunun kendilerini teknolojik aletlere bağımlı olarak gördükleri ve bazı öğretmen adaylarının teknolojik alet kullanımı nedeniyle yoksunluk çektikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının bir kısmının çeşitli amaçlarla teknolojik aletleri ve interneti sıklıkla kullandıkları gözlenmiştir. Ayrıca, öğretmen adaylarının yarısının teknolojik aletlerle geçirdikleri zaman nedeniyle sorumluluklarını aksatmadıkları ve birçoğunun sosyal hayatlarında sıkıntı yaşamadıkları belirlenmiştir.Technology has become an integral part of our lives today. Technological developments affecting every age group also have an impact on prospective teachers. As individuals’ interaction with technology increases, technology addiction, one of the addiction types, has also increased. The aim of the study was to determine the thoughts of prospective biology teachers about technology addiction. Case study, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The study group consisted of 14 third grade prospective biology teachers studying at a faculty of education in Türkiye. The data were collected with the Scenario-based Technology Addiction Form developed by the researchers. The form included three scenarios about technology addiction, and three questions related to these scenarios. Data analyses were conducted according to the content analysis method. The study results showed that most of the prospective biology teachers saw themselves as dependent on technological devices and that some of them suffered from deprivation due to the use of technological devices. Some of them frequently used technological devices and the internet for various purposes. Moreover, half of the prospective students did not disrupt their responsibilities and most of them did not have problems in their social lives due to the time they spent with technological devices.
