İlköğreti̇m 7. sinif öğrenci̇leri̇ni̇n basınç üni̇tesi̇ hakkında tutumları ve onların üst bi̇li̇şsel problem çözme beceri̇leri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada; basınç ünitesi hakkında öğrencilerin tutumlarının ortaya koyması ve öğrenciler tarafından ortaya konulan problem çözme becerilerinin saptanması amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmaya, Balıkesir ilindeki beş ilköğretim okulundan 192 öğrenci katılmıştır. Veriler; basınç ünitesinin öğretimi sonunda konu ile ilgili ve problem çözmeyi de kapsayan 10 maddeden oluşan bir anket kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bazı sonuçlar; “basınç ünitesi öğretimine başlanmadan önce öğrencilerin büyük bir bölümü üniteyi zor olarak nitelendirmektedirler”, “öğrenciler; kendine sorular sormak, bir stratejiye sahip olmak ve işlem yaparken ara değerlendirmelerde bulunmak gibi üst bilişsel problem çözme becerilerini kullanmakta yetersiz kalmakta ve problem çözümünde en önemli etkenleri; konu hakkında bilgi ve problem çözmeye karşı istek olarak belirtmekteler”

The purpose of this study is to assess the elementary school (7th grades) students’ attitudes toward the pressure unit and determine the metacognitive problem solving methods related to this unit. The survey involved 192 students from five elementary schools in Balikesir. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire that had ten items concerning pressure unit and problem solving. The result of the study revealed that “the students have negative attitudes to the science especially to the pressure unit in the beginning of the course the most and also after the teaching”, “students are insufficient to use the metacognitive problem solving methods like asking questions yourself, having a strategy and making interval justifications while solving a problem and also the most important factors in solving problems are domain knowledge and positive attitudes to problem solving".
