Turizm yazınında etik: Problemlerin tespiti ve çözüm önerileri üzerine pilot bir araştırma

Abstract

Günümüzde insan ve toplum yapısındaki olumsuz değişimlere ve bozulmalara bağlı olarak bilim dünyasında etik dışı davranışlar görülebilmektedir. Bu nedenle etik değerler önem kazanmış ve birçok farklı mecrada tartışma konusu haline gelmiştir. Bu noktadan hareketle yürütülen çalışmanın amacı turizm yazınında yaşanmış olan etik sorunları tespit etmektir. Bu kapsamda Balıkesir Üniversitesi ve Bandırma 17 Eylül Üniversitesi bünyesindeki turizm eğitimi veren kurumlarda görevli öğretim elemanlarından anket tekniği ile veri toplanmıştır. Anket uygulaması yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ya da e-mail aracılığıyla yapılmış; elde edilen veriler betimsel istatistiki yöntemlerle analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre etik ihlallerin ortaya çıkmasındaki en önemli nedenler akademik ilerlemenin yayın odaklı olması ve bilimsel yayınlardaki yazar sıralamasının katkıya göre yapılmamasıdır. Etik ihlallerin neden olacağı en önemli olumsuzluk ise bilimsel düşüncedeki kalitenin düşmesi ve özgünlüğün yok olması olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, bunun önlenebilmesi için etik ihlallerin denetlenmesi ve caydırıcı yaptırımlar uygulanması gerekmektedir.

Nowadays, unethical behaviors can be seen in the scientific world depending on negative alteration and deterioration in the society and people. Therefore, ethical values have been an important subject and become a matter of debate at different platform. From this point of view, the purpose of this study is to identify potential ethical problems that have been experienced in tourism literature. In this context, the data was collected by questionnaire technique from instructors who work for institutions providing tourism education within Balikesir University and Bandirma 17 September University. The data was collected through face to face interviews and email surveys. The obtained data was analyzed by descriptive statistical methods. According to the findings obtained from the study, the most important reasons for the emergence of ethical violations were determined. The first reason is publication oriented academic progress and the latter is that authors are not ranked in proportion to their contributions in scientific publications. The most important drawback that ethical violations cause was determined as the quality decline in scientific thinking and the lost originality. According to the results of the study, it is necessary that ethical violations should be inspected and some deterrent sanctions should be imposed.
