Finansal iyilik halinin finansal davranışa yansımaları: Kazanç beklentisinin aracılık

Abstract

This study examines the reflection of financial well-being on individuals' financial behaviors and the mediating role of income expectations in this process. Financial well-being is directly related to how an individual perceives their financial situation and the impact of these perceptions on their financial decisions. In the study, the concept of financial well-being is addressed in two distinct dimensions: positive and negative. In this context, the overall impact of both positive and negative financial well-being on financial behavior was investigated. Furthermore, the study explored how income expectations mediate the relationship between financial well-being and financial behavior. The theoretical foundation of the research was established based on secondary data, and the research model built upon this theoretical framework was tested using primary data collected through a survey method. A total of 528 individuals were surveyed through a convenience sampling method. Based on the data obtained, it was found that both positive and negative financial well-being have an impact on financial behavior. Furthermore, the analysis aimed at examining the mediating effect of income expectations between the two variables revealed that income expectations mediate the effect of both positive and negative financial well-being on financial behavior. The results indicated that individuals with negative financial well-being exhibited stronger financial behavior tendencies as their income expectations increased compared to individuals with positive financial well-being.

Bu çalışma, finansal iyilik halinin bireylerin finansal davranışlarına yansımasını ve kazanç beklentisinin bu süreçteki aracılık rolünü incelemektedir. Finansal iyilik hali, bir bireyin finansal durumunu algılayış biçimiyle ve bu algıların, kişinin finansal kararları üzerindeki etkileriyle doğrudan ilişkilidir. Çalışmada, finansal iyilik kavramı pozitif ve negatif olmak üzere iki farklı boyutta ele alınmıştır. Bu kapsamda pozitif finansal iyilik hali ve negatif finansal iyilik halinin finansal davranış üzerindeki toplam etkisi incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, çalışmada kazanç beklentisinin finansal iyilik hali ile finansal davranış arasındaki ilişkiye nasıl aracılık ettiği incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın teorik temeli ikincil veriler ışığında oluşturulmuş ve bu teorik çerçeve üzerine inşa edilen araştırma modeli, anket yöntemiyle toplanacak birincil verilerle test edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında kolayda örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen 528 kişi ile anket gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler ışığında hem pozitif finansal iyilik halinin hem de negatif finansal iyilik halinin finansal davranış üzerinde etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bir diğer amacı olan kazanç beklentisinin iki değişken arasındaki aracılık etkisine yönelik gerçekleştirilen analizler neticesinde hem pozitif finansal iyilik hali hem de negatif finansal iyilik halinin finansal davranış üzerindeki etkisinde kazanç beklentisinin aracılık etkisi tespit edilmiştir. Sonuçlar incelendiğinde negatif finansal iyilik haline sahip bireylerin kazanç beklentisi arttıkça finansal davranış eğilimlerinin pozitif finansal iyilik haline sahip bireylere nazaran daha güçlü bir şekilde ortaya çıktığı tespit edilmiştir.
