Determination of frequent student problems areas in middle schools

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the frequent students’ problems areas with solutions in schooling. The participants will be selected from middle schools in the city of Bursa. 3445 surveys are collected from 28 middle schools. Firstly, the problem areas of the middle school students will be determined based on the data obtained from the student problem areas. The student problem survey that is usual applied by guidance services of schools will be used to collect data. Descriptive statistics will be presented with calculation of the frequency and the percentage of problems. The students’ problem areas are determined about health, family, personality, school-teacher-course, future-job concerns, and community relations.Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokullarda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sık karşılaştıkları problemleri tespit etmek ve buna ilişkin çözüm önerileri sunmaktır.Bu amaçla Bursa ilinde bulunan toplam 28 ortaokuldan veri toplama yoluna gidilmiş toplam 3445 öğrenciden veri toplanmıştır. Bu çalışmada ilk olarak incelenecek problem alanları sağlık ve beden, okul-öğretmen-ders, ev-aile, toplumsal ilişkiler, meslek ve gelecek ve kişilik olarak belirlenmiştir. Ortaokul öğrencilerinin ilgili alanlardaki problemlerini tespit etmek için okul rehberlik servisleri tarafından sıkça kullanılan ve farklı türleri olan problem tarama listelerinden hareketle araştırmacılar tarafından yeniden revize edilen problem tarama anketi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analizinde betimleme analizi yapılarak yüzde ve frekans değerleri kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışma sonucunda ortaokullarda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sağlık, okul, ders, aile kişilik, meslek, gelecek ve toplumsal ilişki alanlarında önemli oranda problemlerinin olduğu saptanmıştır.
