Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinin öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumları

Abstract

Araştırmada ortaöğretime öğretmen yetiştiren 3,5+1,5 programlarındaki öğrenciler ile ilköğretime öğretmen yetiştiren lisans programlarında okuyan öğrencilerin öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının program, sınıf ve cinsiyet değişkenleri açısından karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma tarama modelindedir. Çalışma grubunu BAÜ-Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesi 1. öğretim lisans öğrencileri ile 3,5+1,5 tezsiz yüksek lisans programlarına devam eden öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada Üstüner’in (2006) geliştirdiği “Öğretmenlik Mesleği Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Ölçek, 645 öğrenciye uygulanmış eksik doldurulanlar ayıklandıktan sonra 511’i çözümlenme aşamasında kullanılabilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre; genel olarak öğrencilerin mesleğe yönelik tutumları “katılıyorum” düzeyi ve üstündedir. Sonuçlar, kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilerden, sosyal ve dil bilim alanlarında okuyan öğrencilerin ise fen ve matematik alanlarında okuyan öğrencilere göre tutum puanlarının daha yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir. Program ve sınıf değişkenleri açısından öğrenci tutumlarında anlamlı bir farklılık gözlenmemiştir.

This study examines the attitudes of students in pre-service teacher training programs towards teaching profession by the program, class and gender. The study group consisted of 511 students enrolled in the four pre-service teacher training programs and the five year pre-service teacher training programs at Necatibey Education Faculty of Balıkesir University. Data were collected by using #8220;Attitude Measurement Scale for Teaching Profession #8221;, developed by Üstüner. To test between group differences, data were analyzed by using t-test and analysis of variance. Results indicated that attitudes of students towards teaching profession were positive, and its level was high, at least at the level of #8220;agree #8221;. The mean score of females #8217; attitudes towards teaching was found higher than those of males. The findings on the comparison of different branches showed that the attitudes of the students at the department of Social Sciences and English Language Teaching were higher than those at Science and Math departments. It was found, that there was not a significant difference in the attitudes towards teaching by program and class.
