The impact of asharite’s assumptions on their approach about the problem of evil

Abstract

İn this study, the problem of evil, which is one of the most important discussion issues in the history of thought, has been examined in terms of the Asharite teology. The views of the schools and sects that had an impact on shaping the phenomenon of evil as a matter in the world of thought of Muslims were touched. In this process, the differences and similarities between the points of departure of the Asharite and the points of departure of Islamic thinkers belonging to different schools were determined and the opinions of the parties were tried to be evaluated by considering their understanding of existence. While evaluating the problem from the point of view of Asharite, the criticisms they dealt with were also examined as a result of this approach and it was tried to determine whether the problems expressed in the criticisms in question constitute a problem in terms of the Asharite’s assumptions. İt were made an effort to reveal metaphysical assumptions stemming from the problems that underpin these criticisms, and to what extent these assumptions coincide with the metaphysical assumptions of the Asharite. In cases where the differences in the metaphysical assumptions of the parties are detected, the difference is briefly explained and it is avoided to enter into the detailed discussion of the assumptions. As a result of the study, it was understood that the Asharite's approach way to the problem constituted a systematic and consistent whole in harmony with their metaphysical assumptions.

Bu çalışmada düşünce tarihinin en önemli tartışma meselelerinden birini teşkil eden kötülük probleminin Eş’âri kelam sistemi açısından incelemesi yapılmıştır. Bu süreçte Eş’arî kelamcıların hareket noktaları ile karşıt görüşlere mensup İslam düşünürlerinin hareket noktaları arasındaki fark ve benzerlikler tespit edilmiş ve tarafların görüşleri kendi varlık anlayışları dikkate alınarak değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.Problem Eş’ârîler açısından değerlendilirken bu yaklaşımın neticesi olarak muhatap oldukları eleştiriler de incelenmiş ve söz konusu eleştirilerde dile getirilen sorunların onların kabulleri açısından gerçekten bir sorun teşkil edip etmediği tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu eleştirilere temel teşkil eden sorunların kaynaklandığı metafizik kabulleri ortaya çıkarmak için gayret gösterilmiş ve söz konusu kabullerin Eş’arîlerin metafizik kabulleriyle ne derece örtüştüğü ortaya konulmuştur. Tarafların metafizik kabullerinde farklılığın tespit edildiği durumlarda söz konusu fark kısaca izah edilmiş ve bu kabullerin detaylı tartışmasına girmekten kaçınılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda Eş’arîlerin probleme yaklaşım şeklinin metafizik kabulleriyle uyumlu, sistemli ve tutarlı bir bütün teşkil ettiği ortaya çıkmıştır.
