Özet

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and global warming are discussed topics over worldwide. The great amount of GHG emissions are released into atmosphere from conventional aircrafts. Researchers are trying to find new and alternative fuels for aircrafts to decrease GHG emissions. Ammonia is one of the alternative fuels compared to kerosene. High energy density and safety are main advantages of ammonia. Researchers conduct various studies about liquid ammonia with heat exchangers for aircraft engines. This work applies entransy theory to heat exchangers in aircraft engines with alternative aircraft fuels for aviation. Liquid ammonia is taken as an alternative fuel in gas turbine engine including heat exchanger. Pillow plate heat exchanger is put into the analysis instead of common types. Usage of liquid ammonia with air for aircrafts is investigated in the way of entransy theory through analytical methods. At the end of the study, 34% of entransy transfer efficiency is obtained via liquid ammonia and air. These findings will be useful method for authors to work on heat exchangers in aircraft engines and to decrease GHG emissions for aviation industry with alternative fuels.
