Ehrlichiosisli köpeklerde endotelin-1 ve hematolojik yangısal oranların değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, ehrlichiosis tanısı konulan köpeklerde endotelyal hasarın değerlendirilmesine yönelik olarak endotelin-1 düzeyleri incelenmiş ve bu parametrenin hematolojik yangısal oranlarla olan ilişkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında ehrlichiosisli 21 köpek ile klinik ve laboratuvar muayeneleri sonucu sağlıklı olduğu tespit edilen 10 köpek değerlendirilmiştir. Tüm olgularda tam kan sayımı yapılmış; elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda granülosit/lenfosit, monosit/lenfosit ve trombosit/lenfosit oranları hesaplanmıştır. Serum endotelin-1 düzeyleri ELISA yöntemiyle ölçülmüş ve sonuçlar istatistiksel analizlere tabi tutulmuştur. Elde edilen bulgulara göre ehrlichiosisli köpeklerde eritrosit sayısı, hemoglobin ve hematokrit değerleri sağlıklı gruba kıyasla anlamlı düzeyde düşük bulunurken, trombosit sayısı ve trombositkrit değerlerinde de belirgin azalma saptanmıştır. Buna karşılık endotelin-1 düzeylerinin enfekte köpeklerde anlamlı Şekilde yükseldiği belirlenmiştir. Hematolojik yangısal oranlar açısından gruplar arasında istatistiksel fark bulunmamakla birlikte, bu oranların ehrlichiosisli köpeklerde yükselme eğilimi gösterdiği gözlenmiştir. Korelasyon analizinde ise endotelin-1 ile trombosit/lenfosit oranı arasında pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Sonuç olarak, Ehrlichia canis enfeksiyonunun köpeklerde belirgin hematolojik değişikliklere neden olduğu ve endotelyal fonksiyonlar üzerinde olumsuz etkiler oluşturduğu görülmüştür. Endotelin-1’in ehrlichiosisli köpeklerde endotel hasarının değerlendirilmesinde kullanılabilecek potansiyel bir biyobelirteç olabileceği düşünülmektedir.

This study aimed to investigate endothelin-1 levels as an indicator of endothelial damage in dogs diagnosed with ehrlichiosis and to evaluate the relationship between this biomarker and hematological inflammatory parameters. A total of 21 dogs with ehrlichiosis and 10 clinically healthy dogs were included in the study. Complete blood counts were performed for all animals, and granulocyte-to-lymphocyte, monocyte-to-lymphocyte, and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratios were calculated. Serum endothelin-1 concentrations were determined using the ELISA method, and the data were statistically analyzed. The results demonstrated that erythrocyte count, hemoglobin concentration, and hematocrit values were significantly lower in dogs with ehrlichiosis compared to the healthy group, accompanied by marked reductions in platelet count and plateletcrit levels. In contrast, serum endothelin-1 concentrations were found to be significantly elevated in the infected dogs. Although no statistically significant differences were observed between groups regarding hematological inflammatory ratios, higher mean values were noted in the ehrlichiosis group. Correlation analysis revealed a significant positive association between endothelin-1 levels and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio. In conclusion, Ehrlichia canis infection leads to notable hematological alterations and endothelial involvement in dogs. Endothelin-1 may serve as a useful biomarker for assessing endothelial damage associated with ehrlichiosis and may contribute to a better understanding of the disease’s vascular pathogenesis.
