WEBQUEST(web macerası) öğrenme yönteminin Türk edebiyatı dersindeki akademik başarıya etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada internet destekli yapılandırmacı bir öğretim yöntemi olan ağ araştırmasının Türk Edebiyatı-10 dersi işlenişinde "Mektup" ünitesindeki öğrenci başarısına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel bir araştırma tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Pendik 80. Yıl Nuh Çimento Anadolu Lisesi 10. sınıf (N=58) öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Başarı Testi öntest ile sontest ve öğrencilere yazdırılan uygulama öncesi mektuplar ile uygulama sonrası mektuplar kullanılmıştır. Toplam 8 sınıftan oluşan çalışma evreninden sınıflar rastgele olarak deney ve kontrol grubuna atanmıştır. Yansız atama ile yapılan gruplardan 10-H sınıfı kontrol grubu; 10-F sınıfı da deney grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Deney grubu öğrencilerine hazırlanan ağ araştırması yöntemi uygulanırken kontrol grubu öğrencileri ile de geleneksel yöntemlerle ders işlenmiştir. Her iki gruba da uygulama öncesinde öntest uygulandığı gibi uygulama sonrasında sontest uygulanmıştır. Öğretim etkinliği her iki grup için de 3 hafta 9 ders saati boyunca devam etmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda kontrol ve deney grubu öntest-sontest başarı puanları ve mektup yazma başarıları karşılaştırıldığında, ağ araştırması yöntemi ile geleneksel öğretim yönteminin deney ve kontrol grubu başarılarına benzer düzeyde etki etki (p>.0.5) ettiği saptanmıştır. Nitel verilerin analizi, kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin mektup yazma ile ilgili kuralları daha çok uyguladıklarını göstermektedir.

This study investigates the effect of Webquests, a constructivist teaching methodology supported by the Internet, on student success in a given course unit, Mektup 'Letter', in conducting the class Turkish Literature-10. With this goal in mind, an experimental study was designed with a pre- and post-test that involves a control group. The sample of this study were composed of the 10th year students attending the Pendik 80. Yıl Nuh Çimento High School (n=58). The data collection tools consisted of a pre- and post-test achievement exam, both of which were prepared by the current researcher, as well as letters the students were asked to write both before and after the task. The target population of the study was composed of a total of 8 classes, which were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Out of these groups, which have been formed through randomization, the class 10-H was determined as the control group, and 10-F as the experimental group. While the students in the experimental group went through the course via a Webquest-based methodology, those in the control group did so through traditional methods. Both groups had to take a pre-test before the application and a post-test afterwards. The teaching process took 3 weeks, over the course of 9 class hours, for both groups. The data that were collected from the achievement tests and the letter writing activity were analyzed using the SPSS 12 statistical software. The results of the experiments and a comparison between the pre- and post-test scores of the experimental and control groups indicate that the Webquest-based and traditional teaching methodologies have the same effect on the success rates of experimental and control groups; that is, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (p>.05).
