Öğrencilerin gözünden uzaktan eğitimde seçmeli din dersleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde öğrencilerin seçmeli din derslerine (Kur’an-ı Kerim / Peygamberimizin Hayatı / Temel Dini Bilgiler) bakışının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda, pandemi sürecinde tüm eğitim kurumlarında zorunlu olarak başlayan uzaktan eğitim uygulamaları ile seçmeli din derslerinde yaşanan değişim ve karşılaşılan sorunlar öğrenci gözüyle incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada, nicel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş, bu bağlamda anket tekniğinden faydalanılmıştır. Bu çerçevede, Balıkesir Üniversitesi Sosyal ve Beşeri Bilimler Etik Komisyonu’ndan “Etik Kurul Onay Belgesi” ile Balıkesir İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’nden anket uygulama izni alınmıştır. Sonrasında Balıkesir İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı ortaokul ve liselerde öğrenim gören ve seçmeli din derslerini tercih eden öğrenciler üzerinde anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın evrenini 2020- 2021 eğitim-öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Balıkesir’deki ortaokul ve liselerde seçmeli din derslerini alan tüm öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Bunların arasından basit tesadüfî örnekleme yöntemiyle kendilerine ulaşılan 303 öğrenci ise araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Anket uygulaması, küresel salgın sürecinin etkilerinden dolayı katılımcılarla yüz yüze olmayıp internet ortamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Anketlerden elde edilen bulgular ve açık uçlu sorulara verilen cevaplar tasnif edildikten sonra ulaşılan verilerin karşılaştırmalı grafik analizleri ve literatür ışığında yorumları yapılmıştır. Bununla birlikte ortaokul ve liselerde uzaktan eğitim ile yapılan seçmeli din dersleri ile ilgili durum tespiti yapılarak, bu süreçte karşılaşılan sorunlara ve bunların çözüm önerilerine yer verilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; öğrencilerin çoğunlukla seçmeli din derslerinden memnun oldukları ve sonraki yıl tekrar bu dersleri tercih etmek istedikleri, memnun olmayanların ise hep aynı/benzer konuların anlatıldığına, bilinen konuların tekrarlandığına vurgu yaptıkları, internet sorunu, derslerin etkileşimli olmaması ve öğrenci ilgisizliğinin ön plana çıkan sorunlar olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca uzaktan eğitimden yüz yüze eğitim gibi verim alınamadığı, salgın sürecinden sonra eğitime, yüz yüze devam edilmesi gerektiği ancak ihtiyaç halinde uzaktan eğitimden yararlanabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.This research aims to reveal students’ perspectives on elective religious courses (Qur’an / Life of the Prophet / Basic Religious Knowledge) during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, the changes and problems encountered in elective religious courses during the mandatory distance education implemented in all educational institutions due to the pandemic have been examined from the students’ perspective. In this study, a quantitative research method was adopted, and in this context, the survey technique was used. In this context, an “Ethics Committee Approval Certificate” was obtained from the Balıkesir University Social and Human Sciences Ethics Committee and “Survey Implementation Permission” was obtained from the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of National Education. Subsequently, a survey was conducted among students attending middle and high schools affiliated with the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of National Education who had chosen elective religious courses. The study’s population consists of all students who took elective religious courses in middle and high schools in Balıkesir during the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The 303 students who were reached through simple random sampling from among these constitute the sample of the study. Due to the effects of the global pandemic, the survey was conducted online instead of in person with participants. After classifying the findings from the surveys and the answers to the open-ended questions, comparative graphical analyses of the data were conducted and interpreted in light of the literature. However, this study examines the current situation regarding elective religious courses offered via distance education in middle and high schools, and includes an assessment of the problems encountered during this process and proposed solutions. According to the research results, the majority of students were satisfied with the elective religious courses and wanted to choose them again the following year. Those who were dissatisfied emphasized that the same/similar topics were always covered, that known subjects were repeated, and that internet access problems, lack of interactive lessons, and student disinterest were the prominent issues identified. Furthermore, it was concluded that distance education does not yield the same results as face-to-face education, that education should continue face-to-face after the pandemic, but that distance education can be used if necessary.
