Gaziantep’te kentleşme ve kentsel nüfusun dağılışı

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Gaziantep Kent’ndeki kentleşme süreci 1927­2018 dönemi boyunca ele alınmakta ve kentli nüfusun dağılım düzeni mahalle ölçeğinde ortaya konulmaktadır. Çalışmanın esas amacı, Gaziantep’in kent olarak şekillenmesinde etkili olan faktörleri ortaya çıkarmaktr. Bunun yanı sıra, kente nüfusun dağılış düzenini ele alarak kentn potansiyel gelişim alanlarını belirlemektr. Böylece kent nüfusunun gelecekteki dağılışının kontrol edilmesi veya kentn potansiyel gelişim alanlarının tespit edilmesi nüfusun dağılım düzeninin ortaya konulmasıyla daha da kolay olabilecektr. Elde edilen bulgular, Gaziantep Kent’nin Türkiye kentleşme hareketlerinin tarihsel süreçte geçirdiği gelişmeleri sergilemesi yanında kendine has bazı özellikler de taşıdığını göstermektedir. Çalışmada kentsel nüfusun dağılımını göstermek için nüfus miktarı ve yoğunluğu haritaları yapılmıştr. Buna göre kentn çekirdek kısmında yer alan mahalleler nüfus kaybetmişlerdir. Bunun en önemli nedeni bu mahallelerin merkezi iş sahası sınırları içerisinde yer alması sebebiyle konut dışı kullanım alanlarının fazla olmasıyla ilişkilidir. Kentn kenarında bulunan mahalleler ise nüfus kazanmışlardır. Bu nüfus artşı daha çok 1980 sonrası kente yapılan göçlerle gerçekleşmiştr. Kente göçle gelen kesimin mahalle tercihlerinde hemşerilik bağları gibi ağ ilişkileri önemli rol oynamıştr. Günümüzde kentn güneyindeki mahalleler nüfusun en fazla olduğu yerleşmelerdir. Bunun sebebi, Gaziantep Üniversitesi’nin ve Tıp Fakültesinin bu bölgede konumlanmış olması, kentn bu istkamete gelişmesi, yeterli talep gören arazi varlığı ve TOKİ uygulamalarıdır

In this study, the urbanizaton process in city of Gaziantep is handled during the period of 1927‐ 2018 and the distributon patern of the urban populaton is revealed in the neighborhood level. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the factors that are effectve in shaping city of Gaziantep. In additon to this, it is aimed to determine the potental development areas of the city by taking into consideraton distributon of the populaton in the city. Thus, checking the future distributon of the city populaton or determining the potental development areas of the city will be easier through distributon of the populaton. The findings show that the city of Gaziantep exhibits deve‐ lopments in the historical process of urbanizaton of Turkey, as well as some unique features. In this study, populaton and density maps were made to show the distributon of urban populaton. According to this, the neighborhoods in the core part of the city have lost populaton. The most im‐ portant reason for this is that these neighborhoods are located within the boundaries of the central business district and are related to the high use of non‐residental areas. Neighborhoods which are on the edge of the city have gained populaton. This populaton increase was mostly due to migra‐ tons to the city afer 1980. Network relatons have played an important role in the neighborhood preferences of the migrants who migrated to the city. The neighborhoods in which the south of the city are the most populated setlements nowadays. The rason for this is that Gaziantep University and the Faculty of Medicine are located in this region, thecity is developing in this directon, the land that has adequate demand and the applicatons of TOKİ.
