The information to patients before bone marrow aspiration and biopsy process causes effect on anxiety

Abstract

Objectives:In our study, we aimed to evaluate prospectively the effect of information given about the application before the procedure on the anxiety of patients who are planned for CIAB due to clinical indication. Materials and Methods: Between August 2019 and May 2020 a total of 145 patients were evaluated. Socio-demographic information collection form, Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale and biopsy information form were used to collect research data through interviews and records. Results: The HADS score applied after learning that the patients who participated in the study would be performed only with CIAB was 12 (0-31) 11.43 ± 6.96, after detailed information and signed consent, the HADS score was 4 (1-7) 4.48 ± 3.85, and after the CIAB was performed, the HADS score was 2 (1). -4) It was found to be 2.74 ± 2.84 (Friedman p <0.001). Before the informed consent form of the patients participating in the study, the HAMS score was 12 (0-31) 11.43 ± 6.96, while the HAMS score after the detailed informed consent was found to be 4 (1-7) 4.48 ± 3.85 (p <0.001, wilcoxon, Z: -9.44). After the informed consent form of the patients, the HAMS score was 4 (1-7) 4.48 ± 3.85, while the HAMS score after CIAB was 2.74 ± 2.84 (p <0.001, wilcoxon, Z: -7.05). Discussion and Conclusion: We think that providing informed consent before the application and explaining it in detail to patients with a CIAB indication will provide a significant reduction in patients' anxiety.

Çalışmamızda klinik endikasyon nedeniyle KİAB planlanan hastaların işlem öncesi uygulama hakkında verilen bilgilendirmenin anksiyeteleri üzerine etkisini prospektif olarak değerlendirmeyi amaçladık Gereç ve Yöntem: Ağustos 2019 – Mayıs 2020 tarihleri arasında toplam 145 hasta değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan hastaların sadece KİAB yapılacağını öğrendikten sonra uygulanan HADÖ skoru 12 (0-31) 11.43±6.96, KİAB hakkında ayrıntılı bilgilendirme ve imzalı onam sonrası HADÖ skoru 4 (1-7) 4.48±3.85 ve KİAB yapıldıktan sonra HADÖ skoru ise 2 (1-4) 2.74±2.84 olarak bulunmuştur (Friedman p<0.001). Çalışmaya katılan hastalara aydınlatılmış bilgilendirme onam formu öncesi HADÖ skoru 12 (0-31) 11.43±6.96 olarak tespit edilmiş iken ayrıntılı bilgilendirme onam sonrası HADÖ skoru 4 (1-7) 4.48±3.85 olarak tespit edilmiştir ( p<0.001, wilcoxon, Z: -9,44). Hastaların aydınlatılmış bilgilendirme onam formu sonrası HADÖ skoru 4 (1-7) 4.48±3.85 iken KİAB sonrası HADÖ skoru 2 (1-4) 2.74±2.84 olarak bulunmuştur (p<0.001, wilcoxon, Z:-7,05).
