Kolektif gelecek düşüncesinin mekansal yansıması olarak bilim merkezleri

Abstract

Mekan fiziksel bir yer olmanın ötesinde bireysel ve toplumsal ilişkilerin, kültürel bağların, hayallerin ve ideallerin tezahürü olması bakımından çok boyutlu bir yapıya sahiptir. Mekan geçmişin izlerini günümüze taşıyabildiği gibi geleceğe yönelik atılmak istenen adımların, düş ve kaygıların somutlaşmasına olanak verir. Geçmişten bugüne dek insanlar yalnızca bireysel ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda değil aynı zamanda ortak bir gelecek tahayyülü ile de mekanlar üretmişlerdir. Kolektif gelecek düşüncesi, bir grubun, toplumun veya insanlığın birlikte hareket ederek ortak değerler, hedefler ve vizyonlar doğrultusunda inşa etmeyi amaçladığı bir geleceği ifade etmektedir.Ülkemizde bilim merkezi kurma, kaldırma ve bu kurumlarla ilgili organizasyon şemalarını onaylamakla ilgili görev yetkilerine sahip olan Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknik Araştırma Kurumu(TÜBİTAK) 2008 yılında bilimi yaygınlaştırma amacıyla bilim merkezleri kurmak ve ülke çapında yaygınlaştırmak için çağrıya çıkmıştır. Bu çağrı sonrası 2014 yılından bu yana ilki Konya ilinde olmak üzere ülkenin farklı illerinde büyük ve küçük ölçekli birçok bilim merkezi açılmıştırve açılmaya devam etmektedir. Bilim müzelerinden evrilerek bilim merkezleri haline gelen bu yerler teknolojinin gelişiminin tüm dünyada sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik açılardan gelişmenin önemli faktörü haline geldiği çağımızda önemli bir misyon üstlenmektedir. Bu çalışmada amaç, kurulan bumerkezlerinkolektif bir gelecek düşüncesinin bir parçası olduğu hem fiziksel hem de ideolojik açıdan mekana yansıdığı fikrini ortaya koymaktır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada kolektif gelecek düşüncesinin tanımı ve literatürdeki yeri incelenmiş,bilim merkezlerinin tarihi ve gelişimleri ele alınmıştır. Türkiye’deki örnekler özelinde bilim merkezlerinin tasarımı, organizasyonu ve işlevlerinin, sadece bilimsel bilginin yayılması değil, aynı zamanda toplulukların ortak bir geleceği birlikte şekillendirme potansiyelini nasıl temsil ettiği tartışılmıştır.Beyond being a physical place, space has a multidimensional structure as a manifestation of individual and social relationships, cultural ties, dreams and ideals. Space can carry the traces of the past into the present, as well as concretize the steps, dreams and concerns for the future. From the past to the present, people have produced spaces not only in accordance with their individual needs, but also with the idea of a collective future. The idea of a collective future refers to a future that a group, society, or humanity seeks to build together, in accordance with shared values, goals, and visions.In 2008, the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), which has the authority to establish and abolish science centers in Turkey and to approve the organizational charts of these institutions, called for the establishment and expansion of science centers throughout the country in order to disseminate science. Following this call, many large and small science centers have been opened in different provinces of the country since 2014, the first of which was in Konya, and many more are still being opened. These places, which have evolved from science museums to science centers, are fulfilling an important mission in our era where the development of technology has become an important factor of social, cultural and economic development all over the world. The aim of this study is to put forward the idea that these centers are part of a collective idea of the future, reflected both physically and ideologically in space. In this context, the definition of the idea of a collective future and its place in the literature are examined, and the history and development of science centers are discussed. In the case of the examples in Turkey, it is discussed how the design, organization, and functions of science centers represent not only the dissemination of scientific knowledge, but also the potential of communities to shape a common future together
