A contribution to the pseudoscorpion fauna of Balikesir Province, Turkey (Arachnida: Pseudoscorpiones)

Abstract

Pseudoscorpion research was conducted in Balıkesir Province in Turkey from 2017 to 2018. Altogether, 4183 specimens belonging to nine taxa and six families were collected; Roncus sp. was identified only to the genus level. One species, Ephippiochthonius tuberculatus (Hadži, 1937), was recorded for the first time in the country. The second known locality of Pselaphochernes balcanicus Beier, 1932 in Turkey is reported. The data presented here represent the first records of each taxon in the Balıkesir Province.
