Balıkesir Kenti’nde rüzgâr enerjisi ve santrallerine yönelik tutumlar

Abstract

Enerji, günümüz toplumsal hayatının sürekliliği açısından başat bir aktör olmasının yanında enerji santralleri aracılığıyla bulunduğu bölgeyi ekonomik, sosyal ve çevresel açılardan etkileyebilen çok yönlü bir kavramdır. Tüm dünyada olduğu gibi Türkiye’de de ihtiyaç duyulan enerjinin fosil yakıtlar ile karşılanmaya çalışılmasının neden olduğu çeşitli sorunlar alternatif enerji kaynağı arayışlarını da beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu arayışlar neticesinde rüzgârın da dâhil olduğu yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarının kullanımı da artış göstermiştir. Ancak bu kaynakların kullanımının neden olduğu ya da olabileceği sorunlar söz konusu kaynakların geniş bir kitle tarafından desteklenmesi nedeni ile çoğunlukla görmezden gelinmiştir. Literatürde genellikle teknik konuları ile ele alınan enerji kavramı son yıllarda sosyal kabul boyutları ile de incelenmeye başlamıştır. Bu çalışma Türkiye’de önemli bir enerji kaynağı olmaya aday rüzgâr enerjisi ve santrallerine yönelik tutumları Balıkesir kent merkezi örneğinde incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Çalışmada nicel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmış ve veri toplamada anket uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. 390 kişi ile yüz yüze uygulanan anket sonucunda rüzgâr enerjisine ve santrallerine yönelik tutumlarda cinsiyet, yaş, meslek, gelir durumu, eğitim durumu, Balıkesir’de yaşam süresi ve yaşanılan yere göre farklılıklar bulunmaya çalışılmıştır

Energy, a multifaceted concept that can affect the region in terms of economic, social and environmental aspects, is one of the main actors in terms of the continuity of today's social life. As in the whole world, various problems caused by trying to meet the energy needed in Turkey with fossil fuels have led to the search for alternative energy sources. As a result of these searches, there has been a tendency towards renewable energy sources where the sun, wind, water, geothermal, biomass and wave are the main sources. But the problems caused or possible by the use of these resources have mostly been ignored due to the fact that these resources are supported by a wide audience, and as a result, there have been decreases in support for wind energy, especially in some countries. In recent years, the concept of energy, which is mostly considered with technical issues in the literature, has also begun to be studied with the dimensions of social acceptance. The aim of this study is to examine the attitudes towards wind energy and power plants, which are candidates to be an important energy source in Turkey, in the example of Balıkesir city center. Survey research, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. As part of this method, the sample was calculated as 390. Simple random sampling method was used in sample selection. The questions sought to answer in the study are as follows: are there significant differences in attitudes towards wind energy and power plants according to gender, age, occupation, income status, educational status, life expectancy in Balıkesir and the place where they live?
