On canal surfaces in 3

Abstract

In this paper we deal with the geometric properties of canal surfaces in $Bbb{E}^ 3$. Further, the first and second fundamental form of canal surfaces are presented. By the use of the second fundamental form, the Gaussian and mean curvature of canal surfaces are obtained.
