ZERO WASTE POLICY IN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND VIEWS OF THE EXISTING TEXTBOOKS (LIFE SCIENCE 2ND GRADE TEXTBOOK)

Özet
Textbooks are one of the most important tools for creating environmental awareness for students. In Turkey, the importance of recycling in terms of environmental education, are in textbooks and curricula at all levels of education. In this study, the zero waste approach adopted in Turkey as a state policy, reflected in textbooks was investigated. In the study which was conducted by using qualitative research methods, document analysis and content analysis, Life Science 2nd grade textbook was examined. In the study, when the textbook and the curriculum are examined, many texts have been identified in order to raise awareness of the topic. In the study, it was determined that the zero waste approach were in accordance with in some text and images. At the end of the study, it was emphasized that environmental education should be transferred not only in texts but also in visuals. © 2019. All Rights Reserved.
