Lisans düzeyinde turist rehberliği eğitimi alan öğrencilerin mesleğe bakış açılarının belirlenmesine yönelik bir araştırma

Abstract

Araştırmanın Amacı: Bu çalışma, turist rehberliği bölümü öğrencilerinin mesleğe karşı tutumlarını ortaya koyabilmek ve öğrencilerin profilini belirleyebilmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem: Veri toplama aracı olarak anket kullanılmıştır. Anket soruları oluşturulurken Erdem 2010 tarafından geliştirilen “Öğrencilerin Animasyon Bölümüne Yönelik Tutumları” ölçeğinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan veriler Balıkesir Üniversitesi Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksekokulu Turist Rehberliği bölümü öğrencilerinden n=155 elde edilmiştir. Ölçeğin alfa güvenirlik katsayısı, en küçük alt sınır olarak kabul edilen 0.70’in üzerinde çıkmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde frekans analizi, faktör analizi, çapraz tablolama, Ki-kare ve t-Testi tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır.Bulgular ve Sonuçlar: Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgularda, Turist Rehberliği bölümü öğrencilerinin çoğunun bu bölümü isteyerek seçtikleri ve bölümde okumaktan mutlu oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Turist rehberliği mesleğine yönelik tutumlarına bakıldığında ise, sektör ile ilgili birtakım olumsuz düşüncelere sahip olsalar dahi genel olarak olumlu tavır içerisinde oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin turist rehberliği bölümüne yönelik tutumlarının altı boyuttan oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin turist rehberliği bölümüne yönelik tutumlarını etkileyen en önemli unsurun işin doğası ve sosyal statü olduğu saptanmıştır

The aim of the Research: This study was conducted to reveal the attitudes of the students of the department of tourist guiding towards the profession and determine the profiles of them. Method: A survey was used as a data collection tool. On creating survey questions, the scale developed by Erdem 2010 “The Attitudes of Students towards the Department of Animation” was utilized. The data used in the research were obtained by the students at Balikesir University, School of Tourism and Hotel Management, the Department of Tourist Guiding. n=155 . Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was over 0.70 which is considered as the least upper bound. The frequency analysis, factor analysis, Crosstabs, chi-square and t-test techniques were used in data analysis. Findings and Results: In the findings from the research, it was determined that most of the students of the department of tourist guiding willingly chose that department and are very happy to study in such a department. In terms of their attitudes towards the profession of tourist guides, it was also determined that even though they have some negative thoughts about the sector, they have a positive attitude in general. As a result of the study,it is defined that the attitudes of the students towards tourist guiding department is composed of six dimensions. It is defined that the most important factor, that effect the attitudes of the students towards tourist guiding department, is the nature of the work and social status.
