THE EFFECTS OF ACUTE STRETCHING EXERCISES ON VERTICAL JUMPING PERFORMANCE OF FEMALE VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS

In The aim of this study is to determine the effect of different acutely applied stretching exercises on vertical jump performance of female volleyball players. The study, located in Turkey Volleyball League 1 category in Balıkesir DSI Sports Club Women's licensed Team Volleyball, mean age (21.21±0.97) years, the average height (173.86±5.46) cm and body weight (64.66 ± 5.78) kg 14 volleyball players were included. In Balıkesir DSI sports facilities, the athletes are on the 1st day respectively; 1) 5 minutes warming was done. 2) PNF stretching exercises were done. 3) Vertical jump test was done. Day 2 respectively; 1) 5 minutes warming was done. 2) static stretching exercises were done. 3) vertical jump test was done. 3rd day respectively; 1) 5 minutes warming was done. 2) Dynamic stretching exercises were done. 3) The study was terminated by having a vertical jump test. Statistical evaluation was made using the SPSS 22.0 program, and it was determined that the values obtained did not show a normal distribution (p <0.05) after examining the normality distribution with the Shapiro – Wilk test. Accordingly, Kruskal Wallis test, one of the nonparametric tests, was used in the analysis of the data. As a result; No significant difference was found in jumping performances of female volleyball players after static, dynamic and pnf stretching exercises (p> 0.05). © 2020, Ataturk Universitesi.
