dc.description.abstractWe have constructed opacity tables for using in stellar modelling in a formatparticularly applicable to the Paczynski freeware program GOB. Our tables arederived from those of Allard and Weiss for lower metal content envelopes, using theLagrange interpolation method. This allows accurate opacities to be given as numericalfunctions of density and temperature with given proportions of hydrogen (X), helium(Y), and ‘metals’ (Z). Inlek et al. showed that it is possible independently to checkopacity effects from modern high-quality observational data. These tables will be usefulfor such purposes.
