Lung herniation resulted from a single rib fracture

Abstract

Lung herniation occurs by the protrusion of pulmonary tissue outside of thoracic wall, from a defect on the chest wall. This rare situation causes several symptoms depending of the size of the herniation. In this article, a case of lung herniation after a single rib fracture resulted from a trauma and the treatment method of it are presented.

Akciğer herniasyonları göğüs duvarında meydana gelen defekt sonucu akciğer dokusunun göğüs duvarı dışına çıkması ile meydana gelmektedir. Nadir görülen bu durum defektin boyutuna göre çeşitli semptomlara yol açmaktadır. Bu yazıda 46 yaşında travma sonrası tek kaburga kırığına bağlı meydana gelen akciğer herniasyonu ve tedavi yönetimi sunuldu.
