| dc.description.abstract | Accidental and retrospective EPR dosimetric potential of commonly used mineral eyeglass lenses were investigated. The investigations were carried out for two different mineral crown eyeglass lenses, which are the white and photochromic glasses. The possible dosimetric properties differences between the coated and uncoated eyeglass lenses were also investigated. Although the investigated lenses present an easily distinguishable EPR signal at high radiation doses (>500 Gy), only the white-coated mineral eyeglass lenses were shown an easily distinguishable EPR signals below 10 Gy. Although the radiation-induced radicals faded very fast in three weeks, the investigated eyeglass lenses have the potential to be used for accidental dose determination. | en_US |
