Kaz Dağı ve Sarıkız efsaneleri üzerine bir değerlendirme

Abstract

Bu yazı, Balıkesir'in Edremit ilçesi sınırlan içinde yer alan Tahtacı Türkmen köylerinin velilerinden Sarıkız ve Kaz Dağı etrafında anlatılan efsaneleri konu almıştır. Kaz Dağı, eski Yunan mitolojisinden beri hep gündemde olmuş; bölge de hep medeniyetle iç içe olmuştur. Bu durum, bölgedeki kültürel dokunun heterojen olduğu ve özellikle Hıristiyanlık etkisinde olduğu görüşünün öne sürülmesine zemin hazırlamıştır. Bu yazı, efsaneler vasıtasıyla bu konuyu tartışmakta ve bölge kültürünün oluşumuna ışık tutmayı amaçlamaktadır

This paper covers the legends told on the saints of Sarıkız and Kaz Dağı of Tahtacı Turkmen villages situated inside the borders of the town of Edremit of Balıkesir. Kaz Dağı has always been popular since the times of Greek mythology and surrounding areas have always been a part of current civilization. This fact has led propose that the local culture displayed a heterogeneous structure and was especially under the influence of Christianity. This study discusses the mentioned topic through the legends and aims to shed light on the emergence of the local culture
