Analysis of the concept of the metaphor between the term and the phenomenon ın the Arabic language and literature

Abstract

In the article, (i) it has been analyzed that the concept of the phenomenon, which is a very important concept in the Arabic language and literature, and emphasizing the aspect of reality versus metaphor, as well as (ii) has been studied to reveal the difference between the general rules which holds the features of the term and metaphor which holds the features of the phenomenon by highlighting that each metaphor stresses the reality. The new words can be interpreted such as relative meanings that can be evaluated in the context of pre and post-position according to the sentence. Thus, these words are not reality, they are metaphors because of the context, and they cannot be used interchangeably. One of the aims of this study, too, is to reveal the difference between the metaphor, feature of the term, and the metaphor, feature of the phenomenon. In the Arabic language and literature, the mentioned difference has firstly been analyzed entitled ‘meaning of meaning’ by Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani.Bu makalede, (i) Arap dili ve edebiyatında çok önemli bir kavram olan ve mecazın hakikat yönünü vurgulayan fenomen terimi analiz edilmiş (ii) her mecazın bir hakikati ifade etmesi bağlamında, terim özelliğini taşıyan genel kaideler ile fenomen nitelikli mecaz arasındaki fark ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Söz konusu yeni kelimeler, siyak ve sibak bağlamında değerlendirilebilecek göreceli manalar şeklinde yorumlanabilirler. Dolayısıyla bu kelime ve tabirler bağlamlarından dolayı hakikat değil mecazdırlar ve birbirlerinin yerine kullanılamazlar. Bu çalışmanın amaçlarından biri de, terim özelliğine sahip mecaz ile fenomen özelliği taşıyan mecaz arasındaki farkı ortaya koymaktır. Arap dili ve edebiyatı literatüründe bu fark ilk kez ‘mananın manası’ ismiyle Abdülkâhir el-Cürcânî tarafından analiz edilmiştir.
