The perceptions of undergraduate tourism students’ satisfaction towards to the university where they are studying: The case of Kyrgyz – Turkish Manas University

Abstract

In this study were examined the perceptions of Kyrgyz – Turkish Manas University students’ satisfaction towards to the university where they are studying. As samples, the undergraduate tourism students were selected. Data were collected from 192 students by questionnaire technique. According to the findings, students are very satisfied with the Kyrgyz – Turkish Manas University were determined (%65,6). In the perceptions of student satisfaction stands out two dimensions: ‘adequacy of laboratory and other activities area’(arithmetic mean: 4,22) and ‘personal development satisfaction’ (arithmetic mean: 4,13). Bu araştırmada, Kırgızistan – Türkiye Manas Üniversitesi (KTMÜ) öğrencilerinin öğrenim gördükleri üniversiteye ilişkin memnuniyet algıları incelenmiştir. Örneklem olarak ise, lisans düzeyinde turizm eğitimi alan öğrenciler seçilmiştir. Veriler anket yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. 192 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülen araştırmada; katılımcıların genel olarak KTMÜ’de eğitim almaktan çok memnun oldukları tespit edilmiştir (%65,6). Öğrenci memnuniyetine ilişkin algılarda ise ‘Laboratuvar ve Diğer Etkinlik Alanlarının Yeterliliği’ (aritmetik ortalama: 4,22) ve ‘Kişisel Gelişim Memnuniyeti’ (aritmetik ortalama: 4,13) boyutlarının öne çıktığı saptanmıştır. Öğrenciler üniversitenin uygulama olanaklarından ve eğitim almakta oldukları bölümün kişisel gelişimlerine katkı sağlamasından oldukça memnundurlar. Bununla birlikte yeniden üniversiteye başlamak durumunda olsalar yine KTMÜ’yü ve turizm bölümünü tercih etmek istemektedirler
