TURİZM PERFORMANSLARI AÇISINDAN TÜRKİYE VE BRICS ÜLKELERİ: BİR KARŞILAŞTIRMA ANALİZİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada BRICS ülkeleri ve Türkiye’nin turizm istatistikleri açısından karşılaştırması yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, ikincil veri kaynaklarından elde edilen veriler kullanılmıştır. Veri toplamak için nitel araştırma yönteminde kullanılan doküman analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. BRICS ülkelerinin ve Türkiye’nin uluslararası turist sayısı, turizm geliri, turist başına düşen harcama tutarları, turizm gelirlerinin ülke ekonomisine katkısı, en fazla turist gönderen ülkeler, seyahat ve turizm rekabet endeksindeki puan ve sıralaması, seyahat ve turizm gelişim endeksindeki puan ve sıralaması verileri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda genel olarak, uluslararası turist sayılarında Türkiye ve Çin, turizm gelirlerinde Çin, Hindistan ve Türkiye, turist başına harcama tutarlarında Hindistan, Brezilya ve Çin, turizm gelirlerinin ülke ekonomilerine katkısında ise Çin’in tek başına ön plana çıktığı belirlenmiştir. BRICS ülkeleri ile Türkiye’nin genellikle coğrafi konum olarak kendilerine yakın ülkelerden turistlere ev sahipliği yaptığı ve ülkelerin turizm pazarlarında çoğunlukla sınır ülkelerin baskın olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Hem Seyahat ve Turizm Rekabet Endeksi hem de Seyahat ve Turizm Gelişim Endeksinde Çin, diğer ülkelere göre daha iyi konumdadır. Bu çalışmanın, BRICS ülkeleri ve Türkiye özelinde turizm istatistikleri açısından karşılaştırılması yapılarak araştırmacılara ve literatüre katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

This study it is aimed to make a comparison of BRICS countries and Turkey in terms of tourism statistics. In the study, data obtained from secondary data sources were used. Document analysis used in the qualitative research method was carried out to collect data. Data on the number of international tourists, tourism income, expenditure per tourist, contribution of tourism revenues to the country's economy, the countries sending the most tourists, the score and ranking in the travel and tourism competitiveness index, the score and order in the travel and tourism development index of BRICS countries and Turkey were used. As a result of the research, it has been determined that Turkey and China stand out in the number of international tourists, China, India, and Turkey in tourism revenues, India, Brazil and China in the amount of expenditure per tourist, and China alone in the contribution of tourism revenues to the country's economy. It has been concluded that BRICS countries and Turkey generally host tourists from countries close to them in terms of geographical location and that border countries are mostly dominant in the tourism markets of the countries. China ranks better than other countries in both the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index and the Travel and Tourism Development Index. It is thought that this study will contribute to researchers and literature by comparing tourism statistics in terms of BRICS countries and Turkey.
