Kullanıcı bakışı ile bilim ve sanat merkezleri: konum, imaj ve fiziki ortamlar

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi (BİLSEM) kullanıcıları olan öğrenci, öğretmen, veli ve yöneticilerin söz konusu merkezlerin eğitim ortamları ve fiziki koşullarına ilişkin düşüncelerinin ve beklentilerinin ortaya konulmasıdır. Bu amaçla araştırmada yarı yapılandırılmış anket formunun temel veri toplama tekniği olarak uygulandığı yorumlayıcı, nitel araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Bilim sanat merkezine devam eden 50 öğrenci, 40 öğrenci velisi, 18 öğretmen ve 5 yönetici olmak üzere toplam 113 kişi çalışmanın katılımcı grubunu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri 2021-2022 eğitimöğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında toplanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmış; açık uçlu sorulara verilen cevaplar iki araştırmacı tarafından bağımsız olarak okunduktan sonra tekrarlanan ve önemli bulunan ifadeler belirlenerek, ifadelerin temsil ettiği düşünülen temalara ve kodlara ayrılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda kullanıcıların BİLSEM’lerin kent içerisinde nasıl bir bölgede bulunmasını istedikleri, cephe organizasyonuna ilişkin beklentileri ve iç ve dış mekanlardaki ihtiyaçları ortaya konulmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar literatür bilgileri ışığında tartışılmış ve bilim sanat merkezlerinin fiziki ve mimari özelliklerine ilişkin önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Bu çalışmanın kullanıcıların istek ve beklentilerini ortaya koymaları sebebiyle sonraki yapı tasarımlarında kullanılacak önemli girdiler sunması umulmaktadır.

The aim of this study is to reveal the thoughts and expectations of students, teachers, parents and administrators who are users of Science and Art Centers (BİLSEM) regarding the educational environments and physical conditions of the centers in question. For this purpose, an interpretive, qualitative research design was used in the research in which a semi-structured survey form was applied as the main data collection technique. The participant group of the study consists of 113 people, including 50 students attending the Science and Art Center, 40 parents of students, 18 teachers and 5 administrators. The research data were collected in the spring semester of the 2021- 2022 academic year. The content analysis method was used in the analysis of the obtained data; After the answers to the open-ended questions were read independently by two researchers, the repeated and important expressions were determined and divided into themes and codes that the expressions were thought to represent. As a result of the study, it was found that users wanted BİLSEMs to be located at an easily accessible point in the city, close to culture-arts and green areas, and in a safe, quiet and calm area; It was observed that the education and training activities taking place inside are reflected outside, open to public use, and have a facade that triggers curiosity; that students need physical formations that feed not only their academic development but also their physical, social and emotional development areas, and that teachers and parents have certain expectations specific to BİLSEM. The results obtained were discussed in the light of the literature and suggestions were made regarding the physical and architectural features of science and art centers. It is hoped that this study will provide important inputs to be used in subsequent building designs by revealing the requests and expectations of the users.
