Özet
The new curricula of secondary school include geography subjects in different units. Geography as a subject has been dispersed in science-technology and social studies courses. Geographic knowledge starts to be given for students from the first year of elementary schools in Life Studies course and continues during elementary and secondary school until at the 8th grade Science and Technology course. During this time period, especially at secondary level, students learn about basis of geography and geography of Turkey. Most of the time, it is very difficult to determine geography contents in the multi-subject courses like social studies, general science-technology and life science courses. This paper aims to explain geography contents in secondary school curricula at different course levels. Moreover, the study investigates geography contents whether it is dispersed evenly between each course. The paper ends with suggestions for teachers how to increase students' geographic knowledge and skills.
