Festival katılımcılarının motivasyonları ve turistik deneyimleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı ilk olarak etkinlik turizmi içerisinde değerlendirilen deve güreşi festival katılımcılarının motivasyonlarını ve deneyimlerini belirlemektir. İkinci olarak katılımcıların gittiği diğer festivaller ve bu festivallerin motivasyonlarını belirleyerek deve güreşi festivali ile aralarındaki benzerlik ve farklılıkları ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bu amaç için 37. Geleneksel Selçuk Efes Deve Güreşi ziyaretçilerinden 20 kişi, örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. Bu örneklemden veriler derinlemesine görüşmeler ile toplanmıştır. Verilere MAXQDA Analytics Pro nitel veri analizi programı aracılığıyla içerik analizi uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucu, katılımcıların daha çok kültürel ve etnik kökenlerle bağlantı kurma ve eğlenme motivasyonu ile deve güreşi festivallerine katıldıklarını göstermektedir. Ayrıca katılımcıların deve güreşi festivali motivasyonları ile diğer festival motivasyonlarının büyük oranda benzerlik gösterdiği belirlenmiştir.The first aim of this study is to determine the motivations and experiences of camel wrestling festival participants evaluated in event tourism. The second aim is to determine motivations of the participants attending the other festivals and to reveal similarities and differences between them. Qualitative design has been adopted in the research. For this purpose, 20 participants were selected as sample from the 37. Traditional Selçuk Ephesus Camel Wrestling visitors. Data from this sample were collected through in-depth interviews. Data were collected from the participants via these questions. Content analysis was employed to the data’s through MAXQDA Analytics Pro qualitative data analysis program. The findings show that, participants mostly attend with motivation of having connection with cultural and ethnic origins and for fun to the camel wrestling festivals. In addition, it was determined that the participants' camel wrestling festival motivations and the other festival motivations were mostly similar.
