19. YÜZYIL ORTALARINA DOĞRU KEMER EDREMİT ESNAFI ÜZERİNE BİR DEĞERLENDİRME

Abstract

Kemer Edremit, 16. yüzyıl başlarında Karesi Sancağı kazalarından Edremit’e bağlı bir köy iken yüzyılın sonlarına doğru kaza statüsüne kavuşmuştur. Kemer Edremit ile ilgili çalışmalar oldukça yetersiz olup esnaf üzerine de yapılmış herhangi bir çalışma mevcut değildir. Dolayısıyla bu çalışmada, 19. yüzyılın ortalarında doğru Kemer Edremit kasabasında ve köylerindeki esnaf üzerine bir değerlendirme amaçlanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda burada faal olan esnaf kolları, dükkânlar ve sahipleri ile tahsil edilecek olan ihtisab vergisi incelenecektir. Böylece Kemer Edremit esnafı hususunda literatüre bir katkı sağlanmış olacaktır. Konu ile ilgili yararlanılan kaynaklar arasında; İhtisab defterleri ile Burhaniye ve Edremit Şer’iye Sicilleri yer almaktadır

In the early 16th century, Kemer Edremit, was a village of Edremit which was one of the township of Sanjak of Karesi. Kemer Edremit became a township towards to end of the century. However, the studies on Kemer Edremit are inadequate and also there is no publication on guilds of Kemer Edremit. Accordingly the aim of this article is to make an evaluation on the guilds of township and villages of Kemer towards to the mid 19th century. In this scope, the active branches of craft, shops and their owners and the tax of ihtisab will be examined. Thereby, it would provide a contribution to the literature. The main sources of this study are İhtisab defters and Burhaniye and Edremit Qadi Records
