Origo Constantini Imperatoris: Rise of Emperor Constantinus

Abstract

The Roman emperor Constantine is one of the centre figures of the late antiquity, both as the first Christian emperor and as the founder of the Byzantine, however, he almost remains unnoticed in Turkish history literature. Therefore, the aim of this work is to contribute to the introduction of Constantine to the Turkish Constantinian literature. Here a translation of a short Constantinian biography, Origo Constantini Imperatoris, is presented with a detailed commentary. A large bibliography is also attached at the end of the work.
