Sağlık fonksiyonu açısından Edremit şehri

Abstract

Şehirler çok fonksiyonlu yerleşmelerdir. Sağlık hizmetleri şehirlerdeki merkezi fonksiyonlardandır. Bu konuda verilen hizmetlerin doğası çeşitli nedenlerle değişmektedir. Yerleşmelerin ülke yerleşme sistemindeki konumu, yönetsel konum sunulan hizmetleri etkilemektedir. Bu değişimin nedenlerinden biri de turizm faaliyetleridir. Çalışmanın amacı önemli şehirsel fonksiyonlardan biri olan sağlık fonksiyonun genel özellikleri yanında özellikle turizmin gelişmiş olduğu bir yerleşmede farklılığını ortaya koymaktır. Edremit’te sağlık hizmetleri çeşitli kurumlar tarafından verilmektedir. Bunlar arasında özel hastane de vardır. Edremit Devlet Hastanesi şehrin hasta yükünü taşıyan hastanedir. Edremit, körfez bölgesinde yatak kapasitesi en fazla olan yerleşmedir. Şehir ve çevresinde turizmin gelişmiş olması, genel poliklinik sayısını artırdığı gibi, hastaların coğrafi kökenini ve hastalık nedenlerini de etkilemiştir. Özel yataklı hastanenin varlığı, diş poliklinik sayısının çokluğu da turizm ile ilgilidir.    

Cities are settlements with multiple functions. Healthcare services is one of the central functions of a city. The nature of the services provided may change due to several reasons. Position of settlements in a country affects the services offered. One of the reasons for this change is tourism activities. The objective of this study was to determine general features of the healthcare function, one of the most important urban functions, as well as determining the differences in healthcare in a settlement with especially developed tourism activities. Healthcare services in Edremit are provided by various institutions. There is a private hospital among these institutions. Edremit State Hospital is the hospital that carries the city’s main patient load. Edremit is the settlement with the highest hospital bed capacity in the Gulf region. The developed tourism activities in the city have not only increased the number of general out patient clinics but also the geographical origin of patients as well as causes of the diseases. The presence of a private hospital and the existence of the large number of dental clinics are also related to tourism.
