DETERMINATION OF OCCUPATIONAL ISSUES OF FEMALE TOURIST GUIDES

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the issues encountered by female tourist guides in the profession and to offer solutions to solve issues. For this purpose, purposeful sampling method, one of the qualitative research methods, has been preferred and a semi-structured questionnaire has been developed in the research. It is determined that the data is gathered under certain categories. The professional issues of the female tourist guides are grouped as tourists, travel agents, sector employees, the elements taking part in the realization of the tour, the structure of the profession and the issues experienced by the nature of the woman. According to the results of the research, female tourist guides have issues with the most tour drivers. It has been determined that the most educational subject is mentioned in the solution suggestions for the professional issues of the female tourist guides participating in the research. Recommendations are presented in the light of the literature review and the results obtained.

Bu çalışmanın amacı kadın turist rehberlerinin meslekte karşılaştıkları sorunları belirlemek ve sorunların giderilmesi noktasında çözüm önerileri sunmaktır. Söz konusu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden kasti örnekleme yöntemi tercih edilmiş, yarı yapılandırılmış bir soru formu oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin belirli kategoriler altında toplandığı tespit edilmiştir. Kadın turist rehberlerinin mesleki sorunları turistler, seyahat acentaları, sektör çalışanları, turun gerçekleşmesinde görev alan elemanlar, mesleğin yapısı ve kadının doğası gereği yaşadığı sorunlar olarak altı grupta toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre kadın turist rehberleri en çok tur şoförleriyle sorun yaşamaktadır. Araştırmaya katılan kadın turist rehberlerinin mesleki sorunlarına yönelik çözüm önerileri noktasında en fazla eğitim konusuna değinildiği tespit edilmiştir. Alanyazın taraması ve elde edilen sonuçlar ışığında öneriler sunulmuştur.
