While speaking is vital in English as a foreign language (EFL) learning context, speaking anxiety constitutes a barrier to developing the mentioned skills. From this perspective, self-produced videos can be used as a tool for decreasing speaking anxiety levels. However, current research indicates that there is no consensus on the effects of the use of videos on speaking anxiety. This study aims to examine whether the use of self-produced videos affects the level of speaking anxiety in the EFL learning context. The study used a two-group quasi-experimental research design, a background questionnaire, and the English Speaking Anxiety in the Classroom Scale (ESACS) administered to 39 EFL learners assigned to control and experimental groups. The participants in the control group had face-to-face oral presentations, whereas the ones in the experimental group used self-produced videos. No significant change was observed between the use of traditional and self-recorded presentations. © 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved.
