The signed letters of the Umayyad Caliphs

Abstract

This research deals with the art of The Signed Letters of of the Umayyad Caliphs, and tries to explain the rhetorical colors of the letters that make them a very eloquent speech. On the one hand, That the signed letters did not appear only in the Abbasid era and these letters bear many of the characteristics of the speech of politicians in that era.

Bu araştırma Emevî halifelerinin tevki‘ sanatını ele almakta, onu bir yönüyle etkili, diğer yönüyle delilli ve ikna edici bir edebi bir hitap yapan belagat çeşitlerine ışık tutmaya çalışmaktadır. Araştırmacının bu konuyu seçmesinin sebebi genel olarak Emevî tevkîâtının araştırmalarda önemsenmemiş olması hatta bazılarının; bu sanatın Abbasî asrında ortaya çıktığını ve o asrın siyasi hitap izlerini taşıdığını iddia etmesidir.
