The association constants of macrocyclic ether-cation interactions in dioxane/water mixtures, part II

Abstract

The association constants of Na+ with the macrocycles of [12]crown-4, [15]crown-5, [18]crown-6, Diaza[18]crown-6 and PEG 600 were estimated in dioxane /water (50/50) using a Na2+ ion selective electrode with the relationship, 1/K-a [L-o](n+m-1) = (1-nP')(n) (1-mP')(m)/P' where, P' is the mole fraction of the complexed cation.
