Üniversite öğrencilerinin benlik saygısının bazı demografik bilgilere göre incelenmesi

Abstract

Üniversite öğrencilerinin benlik saygılarını farklı değişkenler açısından incelemektir. Araştırmaya 99 kadın (%49,5) ve 101 erkek (%50,5) olmak üzere toplam 200 öğrenci katılmıştır. Veri toplamak üzere öğrencilerin benlik saygılarını ölçmeye yönelik Arıcak (1999) tarafından geliştirilen Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği (B.S.Ö.) kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirliği Chronbach Alpha analiziyle ortaya koyulmuştur. Uygulama sonucuna göre 32 ifadenin güvenirliği α=0,902 çıkmıştır. Alt boyutların güvenirliği ise, Benlik Değeri α=0,704, Özgüven α=0,686, Depresif Duygulanım α=0,629, Kendine Yetme α=0,659, Başarma ve Üretkenlik α=0,643olarak tespit edilmiştir. Toplanan verilerin dağılımları incelenmiş, yapılan analizlerden hareketle verilerin normal dağıldığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Buna göre parametrik testler uygulanmıştır. Önem seviyesi %95(p<0,05) düzeyinde anlamlı kabul edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin cinsiyetleri, yaşları ve bulundukları sınıflar ile benlik saygısı alt boyutların karşılaştırılmasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmiştir (p<0,05). Bölüm değişkeni ve spor yapma durumuna göre benlik saygısı arasında ise, istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark saptanmamıştır (p>0, 05). Öğrencilerin benlik saygıları onların bulundukları sınıflardan hareketle farklılaştığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Buna göre, öğrenciler hangi sınıfta olursa olsun benlik saygılarının farklı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Cinsiyete bakıldığında ise, erkeklerin kendine yetme durumlarının kadınlara oranla daha fazla olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin Depresif duygulanımlarının yaşa göre farklılaştığı ancak bu farkın belli bir yaş gurubu arasında olmadığı anlaşılmıştır.To examine university students self-esteem in terms of different variables.A total of 200 students, 99 women (49.5%) and 101 men (50.5%) were participated in the study. The distribution of the collected data was examined and it was concluded that the data was distributed normally based on the analyses performed. Parametric tests were performed accordingly. Significance level was considered significant at 95% (p<0.05).A statistically significant difference was found between the gender, age, and grades of the students and the lower dimensions of self-esteem (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (p>0.05).The self-esteem of the students has emerged to differ from the classes they are in. Accordingly, it is thought that the self-esteem of the students will be different regardless of the class. When we look at gender, it was found that the selfsufficiency status of men was higher than that of women. In addition, it was found that the depressive feelings of students differ according to age, but this difference was not among a certain age group.
