Biology pre-service teachers' motivation towards technology integration in education
Özet
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between personality and motivation for technology integration in education. The Big Five Model of Personality served as the framework to help meet the purpose. The participants were 75 biology pre-service teachers in a university in western Turkey. The findings revealed that three dimensions of personality (Extroversion, Openness and Neuroticism) were related to motivation for technology integration in education. Moreover, stepwise regression analysis revealed that only extroversion dimension emerged as a significant predictor of motivation. These results suggest that pre-service teachers who perceive themselves as extrovert, social and affectionate tend to be more motivated to use technology in the classroom than those who see themselves introvert and reserved.
