dc.description.abstract | A bimetallic 'low-alloy steel - high-chromium cast iron' composite obtained by successive sand casting is studied and shown to have good cohesion on the interface and no casting defects. The hardness and the impact toughness of the bimetal increase simultaneously. The microstructure is more homogeneous after diffusion annealing at 1040A degrees C, rapid cooling, and 3-h tempering at 270A degrees C. | en_US |
