Ayvalık ile Ören (Burhaniye) arasının kıyı jeomorfolojisi

Abstract

Araştırma sahamız Kuzey Ege'de, Edremit körfezinin doğusunda yer almak-tadır (Şekil 1). Çalışmanın amacı, Ayvalık ile Ören (Burhaniye) arasında kalan kıyının, jeomorfolojik özelliklerini tesbit etmek ve haritalamaktır. Alanın, ilk ba kışta dikkati çeken en önemli özelliği yarımadalardan ve çok sayıda koy ile kör-fezden oluşan olağanüstü güzellikteki morfolojisidir. Bu haliyle Edremit körfezi nin doğu ve güney kıyıları; Türkiye'nin en genç kıyıları arasında sayılabilir. Böl genin bugünkü morfolojik görüntüsünü kazanmasında flüvial, östatik ve tektonik süreçlerin önemli rolü olmuştur. Kuzeyde kıyının monotonluğunu bozan Örentepe (Bergaztepe 18 m.) den başlayan inceleme alanı, güneye doğru alçak kumsal plajları, sahil bataklıkları, talezleri, yarımadaları ile küçük hareketli kumulları, kıyı hilalleri, kıyı kordonları, kıyı okları, lagünleri, adalan ve yarımadaları ile ilginç bir görünüm arzeder. Bu ilginç manzarası ile yöre, Türkiye'nin en önemli turizm merkezlerinden birisini oluşturur.

Our research area couers the eastern part of the Edremit Gulf, the northern Aegean (Figure:1). The aim of study, is to prove and map the geomorghological characteristics of the coasts between, Ayvalık and Oren (Burhaniye). The most important feature of the area, remarkable at first sight is its magnificant morpho-logy which consists of peninsulas and numerous inlets and bays. With this cha racteristic of its the eastern and southern coasts of the Edremit Gulf can be considered amongst the youngest in Turkey, Fluvial, östatik and tectonic prace-dures have had a great role in the appearance of the region today. The study area, starting from Örentepe (Bergaztepe 18 m.) Which spoils the monotony of the northern coasts, creates an interesting view with low sandy be-aches, coast marhes, cliffs, little active dunes, coast crescentes, coast spits, submarine spits, lagoons, islands and peninsulas, which lie soutwards. With this interesting view of its, the region becames one of the most important to-urism resorts in Turkey.
