Balıkesir ili mevcut turizm potansiyeline yönelik genel bir değerlendirme

Abstract

Günümüzde kentleşme ve sanayileşme faaliyetleri sonucunda insanların kent yaşamından uzaklaşarak farklı yerler gezip görme ihtiyacı, bölgelerin doğal ve kültürel değerleri hakkında bilgi sahibi olma istekleri gibi amaçlarla çeşitli turizm faaliyetleri gerçekleştirilmektedir. Son zamanlarda hızlı bir şekilde gelişen turizm faaliyetlerinin sektörel açıdan ülke ekonomisine katkısı büyüktür. Birçok ülkede önemli gelir kaynağı olan turizm sektörü Türkiye’de de önemli bir yere sahiptir. Türkiye, zengin kültürel altyapısı, iklim özellikleri, doğal güzellikleri ve coğrafi konumu ile turizm potansiyeli yüksek olan bir ülkedir. Türkiye’de turizm faaliyetleri diğer ülkelere göre daha geç keşfedilmiş olmasına rağmen hızlı bir gelişim göstermiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’nin Marmara Bölgesi’nde bulunan Balıkesir ilinin çeşitli turizm faaliyetlerinin incelenmesi suretiyle, Balıkesir’in mevcut turizm potansiyelinin belirlenmesidir. Çalışmanın kavramsal çerçeve boyutunda literatür taraması araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Balıkesir’in turizm açısından zengin bir potansiyele sahip olduğu, özellikle alternatif turizm faaliyetlerine yapılacak yatırımlar ile Balıkesir bölgesinde turizm faaliyetlerinin artacağı ve bu faaliyetlerin Balıkesir ekonomisi açısından önem kazanacağı anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca, tanıtım ve pazarlama faaliyetlerinde eksiklikler tespit edilmiş olup, bunun sonucunda Balıkesir’in turizm talebinin arttırılmasına yönelik birtakım önerilerde bulunulmuştur

Today, as a result of urbanization and industrialization activities, various tourism activities are carried out for purposes such as the need of people to move away from urban life and to visit different places, and the willingness of people to have information about the natural and cultural values of the regions. Recently, the rapidly developing tourism activities have had a great contribution to the economy of the country in terms of the sector. The tourism sector, which is an important source of income in many countries, has also an important place in Turkey. Turkey is a country with a high tourism potential with its rich cultural infrastructure, climate characteristics, natural beauties and geographic location. Although tourism activities in Turkey had been discovered later than other countries, they developed rapidly. The purpose of this study is to determine the current tourism potential of Balıkesir by examining the various tourism activities of Balıkesir Province in the Marmara Region of Turkey. In the conceptual framework of the study, the literature review research method was used. As a result, it is understood that Balıkesir has a rich potential in terms of tourism, tourism activities in Balıkesir region will increase by investments especially made in alternative tourism activities, and these activites will gain importance in terms of Balıkesir economy. Also, deficincies were identified in the advertising and marketing activities, and as a result, some suggestions were made to increase the tourism demand of Balıkesir.
