Jeopark ve jeoturizm konulu çalışmaların bibloyometrik analizi

Abstract

Kitle turizminin olumsuz etkilerinin hissedilmesiyle birlikte günümüz insanında çevre bilinci ve doğal, kültürel değerler üzerinde farkındalık anlayışı artarak alternatif turizm türlerine ilgi oluşmuştur. Bu kapsamda ortaya çıkan jeoturizm faaliyetleri, sürdürülebilir turizm anlayışı ile gerçekleşen kırsal turizm ve ekoturizm gibi turizm çeşitlerinin bir uzantısı olarak görülmektedir. Jeoturizm alternatif turizm türleri arasında oldukça talep alan bir turizm çeşidi olmaya başlamıştır. Çalışmanın amacı dünyada jeoturizme yönelik yapılmış olan araştırmaların eğilimlerinin bibliyometrik olarak incelenmesidir. Bu amaçla, 2003 ile 2024 yılları arasında yapılmış olan jeoturizm ile ilgili çalışmalar “jeopark” ve “jeoturizm” anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak Scopus veri tabanında taranmıştır. Veri toplama işlemlerinde; araştırmanın başlığı, yayınlandığı yıl, yayınlayan derginin ismi, yazar adları ve atıf sayısı gibi bilgilerden yararlanılmıştır. Metin verilerinin analizinde VOSviewer yazılımı kullanılarak doğruluk ve güvenilirlik sağlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda yıllar itibariyle “jeopark” ve “jeoturizm” konusuna yönelik yapılan araştırmaların nitelik ve niceliğinde, atıf sayısında nasıl bir değişim olduğu ve araştırmaların hangi ülke ve kurumlarda daha ağırlıklı yayınlandığı tespit edilmeye çalışılacaktır. Çalışmanın jeoturizm konusunda geleceğe yönelik eğilimleri ve farklı bakış açılarını ortaya çıkararak bundan sonra yapılacak çalışmalara rehberlik edeceği öngörülmektedir. Literatür incelendiğinde “jeopark” ve “jeoturizm” alanında yapılan araştırmalara yönelik herhangi bir bibliyometrik analiz çalışmasının olmadığı, bu nedenle bu alandaki boşluğu dolduracağı düşünülmektedir.

With the increasing awareness of the negative impacts of mass tourism on the environment, contemporary individuals have developed a greater appreciation for environmental consciousness and natural and cultural values. This has led to a growing interest in alternative forms of tourism. In this context, geotourism activities have emerged as an extension of tourism types such as rural tourism and ecotourism, which are carried out with a sustainable tourism approach. Geotourism has started to become a highly demanded form of tourism among alternative tourism types. The aim of the study is to investigate the trends of research conducted on geotourism worldwide through bibliometric analysis. To achieve this goal, research articles related to geotourism conducted between 2003 and 2024 were scanned in the Scopus database using the keywords “geopark” and “geotourism”. In data collection processes, information such as the title of the research, publication year, name of the publishing journal, author names, and citation count were utilized. The accuracy and reliability of the textual data analysis were attempted to be ensured using the VOSviewer software. The study aims to determine changes in the quality and quantity of research conducted on the topics of “geopark” and “geotourism” over the years, as well as the citation counts, and to identify the countries and institutions where the research is predominantly published. It is anticipated that the study will reveal future trends and different perspectives regarding geotourism, thus guiding future research efforts. Upon reviewing the literature, it has been observed that there is a lack of bibliometric analysis studies on research conducted in the fields of “geopark” and “geotourism”. Therefore, it is believed that this study will fill this gap in the field.
